In a long-delayed move that doomed his third government, Silvio Berlusconi vowed to resign as Italy's longest-serving prime minister after losing majority in lower house of parliament and key economic reforms have been approved. "I will resign as soon as the law is passed... I see elections being held at the beginning of February and I will not be a candidate in them," he said. In the latest speech, Silvio Berlusconi claimed that he would not run again in early polls.
